Our nonwoven business launched the nonwoven business in 1971, with the founding of Kuraray Chicopee Co. Ltd., initiated as a joint venture business with Johnson & Johnson. The business was later renamed several times before being transferred to Kuraray Kuraflex Co., Ltd., which operates the business today. Throughout a history spanning more than 50 years, we have been able to continue our operations business thanks to your support.

Nonwovens are fiber materials that are extremely useful for making people's lives more convenient. The global nonwoven market is growing and expanding with a focus on emerging markets and this is, without a doubt, a growth industry.

Since our foundation, we have sold a great many nonwoven goods in both domestic and foreign markets. We supply a wide range of products in a multitude of sectors, including sanitary materials, baby and nursing care goods, general industrial goods, and various materials for the food service industry.

Recent years have also seen increased product development in pursuit of lighter weight and also functionality such as good filtration qualities.
These innovations constitute a trend towards high added value nonwovens that are not just disposable. It is no exaggeration to say that nonwovens still have enormous untapped potential.
As a member of the Kuraray Group, we has the potential to apply its proprietary technologies to the unique raw material resins developed by Kuraray group companies to develop completely new materials. We plans to develop high added value nonwovens.
