HISTORY
50 years of history
1971
Founded as Kuraray Chicopee Co., Ltd. - a joint venture business between Kuraray Co., Ltd. and Johnson & Johnson.
1972
Production started at Kuraray Chicopee Co., Ltd. (current Okayama plant).
1982
Kuraray Co., Ltd. acquired the shares of Johnson & Johnson to form a wholly owned company, Kuraflex Co., Ltd.
1987
Merged by Kuraray Co., Ltd. as Kuraflex Division
1989
Meltblown production started.
2005
Sales unit of nonwoven became independent from Kuraray Co., Ltd.
by establishing Kuraray Kuraflex Co., Ltd.
2006
Steam jet nonwoven production equipment (first in the world) installed in Okayama plant.
2012
KURAFLEX™ COUNTER CLOTH won the GOOD DESIGN AWARD.
2018
Kuraray Kuraflex Co., Ltd. got the certification from HACCP International Pty Ltd. for KURAFLEX™ COUNTER CLOTH.
2019
Meltblown equipment was added.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, our lifestyle has changed significantly. Changes of lifestyle create demands in various fields, and the non-woven fabric market is affected by international environmental changes. Kuraray Kuraflex Co., Ltd. will take on the challenge of creating value that contributes to society by sending products that are useful for the future from Japan to the world.
